Handmade Loveliness

I can spend quite a lot of time browsing through Etsy and the Treasury is such a great feature, the combinations people put together would make great posters and its an excellent advert for peoples work. Its such a popular part of the site that in order to make your own treasury you have to be on the site at the treasury page at just the right minute when space becomes available. Now I've tried to do this on several occasions and for one reason or another never quite managed it. So this weekend I was very pleased with myself when I did happen to be in the right place at the right time and managed to create my own little treasury full of only a tiny fraction of the items on my list of favourites. Its only up for another day but if you want to check out some of the products and who sells them - and I really think you should! then click here

Latest Idea - Fabric Badges

I've been wondering what to do with all the lovely scraps of material I have stored in my cupboards and i've also been really interested in trying out badge making as I think little badges are such a cute accessory. So I bought a badge maker and after a great afternoon experimenting I came up with these which are now for sale in the PhatSheep Etsy Shop, hope they sell as I can't wait to make some more!

Fresh Exhibition Items

Well after far too many late nights and some moderate amounts of panic I have managed to produce 4 new items for the FRESH exhibition at our local gallery. The remit was to produce items that had not been seen or sold before, initially I thought I would produce a new print, i've been working on one over the Christmas break but it was going to be too much of a rush and I didn't want to send something to print that I wasn't happy with. So I decided on 4 new items using my Croft house and Fair isle jumper prints and here they are, doorstop, teacosy, bag and purse :

The doorstop is linen as is the pocket on the bag, the rest of the bag is cordrouy, the tea cosy and the purse are cotton. Now that I'm looking at the finished items all professionally photographed I'm really pleased with how they all turned out, phew!
